So, recently I’ve been working on my graduation thesis, and it’s been a real struggle. Staring at the computer all day, my hair feels like it's about to fall out! 😭 When I finally finished the first draft, it was… lackluster. I kept repeating the same words, and even I cringed. And let’s not even talk about my English level… you know, barely passable. The writing came out as a jumbled mess of 'Chinglish'. 😭

Quillbot's interface is clean and easy to use. Even if you're not tech-savvy, you can handle it easily. I pasted a section of my thesis, selected the "Standard" mode, clicked "Paraphrase" and OMG! The paraphrasing was amazing! It changed words and adjusted sentence structures making it flow so much more naturally. It felt like a professional editor was helping me! 🙌

I had previously written something like, "This study will explore the impact of AI on education." (So boring, right?) After Quillbot "magically" modified it, it became “This research delves into how AI influences the field of education.” Wow! Doesn’t that sound much more professional? It even offers several options, so you can choose what you want. How user-friendly is that?! ❤️

Various Modes to the Rescue!

Quillbot offers more than just the "Standard" mode. There are "Fluency," "Formal," "Creative," "Shorten," "Expand," and more. I found the "Formal" mode particularly useful for academic writing. It changes colloquial language into more formal terms and replaces simple words with more advanced ones. For example, I would have used “very important,” but Quillbot changed it to “crucial” or “essential,” instantly raising my thesis to the next level! 😎

The "Creative" mode works well for more free writing, using more vivid language, sometimes throwing up unexpected words. It’s really fun to experiment with! "Shorten" and "Expand" do exactly what they suggest, shortening or expanding your sentences. If you feel your sentences are too long or too short, these modes can help.

Before Quillbot, writing my thesis was so hard. I had to rack my brains, check dictionaries, search for synonyms, and it was exhausting! Now, with Quillbot, it's like I have a superpower. I copy and paste, and within seconds, it's done! With the time I save, I can even sleep a little more! 😴

More Than Paraphrasing, It’s a Grammar Checker!

Besides the paraphrasing function, Quillbot also has a practical grammar checker. It detects grammar errors like tense mistakes, singular/plural errors, and incorrect word pairings. It also offers suggestions, which can be applied with a single click. Before, I had to ask my friends to help check my grammar; now I can do it with Quillbot! 👍

I remember once I used “affect” and “effect” incorrectly. Quillbot not only pointed it out but also explained the difference between the two. It's like my own personal English grammar tutor! 🤓

Advanced Usage: More Than Just Thesis Writing!

I initially used Quillbot only for my thesis, but I soon found other uses. When writing emails, I can polish my wording, making my emails seem more professional. When writing social media content, it helps me create attractive titles and captions. Sometimes, I even use it to play around with words, see what surprises it might bring.

For example, I was recently preparing a presentation. I put my draft into Quillbot and had it re-written using the “Creative” mode, then again in the “Formal” mode, and finally combined the two versions to create a brilliant presentation! This process didn’t take up too much of my time either! 🥳

• Don’t Over Rely on It: Quillbot is just a tool, it doesn’t replace critical thinking. You still need to read the rewritten content carefully to ensure it matches your ideas.
• Make Good Use of Different Modes: Different modes have different features; use the right mode for the right occasion.
• Integrate Your Own Understanding: Don't copy Quillbot’s output blindly. You should adapt it to match your writing style.
• Experiment: Quillbot has lots of features; try them out and find what works best for you.

The Highlight: My Supervisor Complimented Me?!

I didn’t have high expectations when I first started using Quillbot. I just hoped it would help make my English sentences a bit smoother. But when I handed in my revised thesis, my supervisor actually complimented my progress, saying my writing was more fluent and professional! I was so excited! Like winning the lottery! 🤩

Of course, I didn’t mention Quillbot to my supervisor. It’s still a somewhat sensitive tool. I think Quillbot didn’t just improve my writing, it opened up new ideas for me. I realized English can be expressed in so many different ways, and that I can write more fluently and professionally!
